Is The Media Biased?

Blog #3  Is the media biased?

Is the media biased? Well of course it is. The media is reliant on advertising dollars to survive.

According to CNN Money, the CNBC network charged $250,000 for a 30 second commercial. They

rely on audiences too. Again, according to CNN Money, the republican debates drew 24 million

viewers on the first night.

The best way to draw their audience in is to increase the drama of just reporting the news. A

recent Republican debate was wildly applauded by viewers and the individuals participating. The one

YouTube excerpt from Fox news networks shows their reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-9Jds6jjrI You only have to watch the first few minutes to see how they are laughing at the reactions of the candidates from questions put forth by the Moderator John Harwood. They even go as far as to label him as  possibly the 'worst debate moderator ever'. Whether he is or not, the rest of the media networks, bloggers, and youtubers, jumped on the bandwagon for audience numbers. Because, by exaggerating the drama on stage, the viewer numbers expand exponentially. That's the name of the game. So, is our media biased? You bet? Are we letting it happen by being the passive audience they crave? You Bet!

#1 My introduction. My name is Carol and I have never blogged before. There is an influx of information to do for this project that I am going to be confused about. I started college last semester to see if I could find anything that I can do for work. It has been a very long time and almost everything is brand new to me. I have several disabilities that add to my frustrations. I am trying hard. I welcome all advice and look forward to seeing your creativity.
